Julia

Senior Clinical Occupational Therapist

Julia is one of our Senior OT’s and you are sure to have seen her about the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands regions as a born and bred Murraylands local. Completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) with first class Honours at the University of South Australia allowed Julia to continue her dream of working with children throughout her life with a career as an OT, while marrying this up with a great love for teaching and providing leadership in her capacity as Senior OT.

Julia has a particular interest in working with children in the younger years, below 7, and is known for her passion in supporting children and families in toilet training. Experience working in several paediatric private practices with children and young adults ranging from 2 years to adults in their 20's has seen her skills and knowledge grow, and she has supported children with cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Auditory Processing Disorder, Attention Defect Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), children with a history of trauma and neglect, developmental delay, intellectual disability and more.

Julia loves seeing the ‘small’ wins… from children learning to write their name, getting their first job, going on their first sleep over, receiving school awards, first wee on the toilet, or joining in family activities. Being a part of children and their family’s joys as they make these achievements is a gift Julia cherishes and delights in.

In her own time, Julia is just like you or me; she enjoys watching movies, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends and good food outside of work. Mind you, Julia’s version of ‘good food’ is really just desserts, and she is known for her love of these. Must be her ‘sweet tooth’ that makes her so sweet!
