We understand that $193.99 per hour for occupational therapy might seem like a high figure at first glance. However, this hourly rate reflects a whole-of-service model—supporting not just the time spent with you or the client, but everything behind the scenes that enables safe, quality, and meaningful care. When you take a closer look at everything this rate supports, it becomes clear just how much value is packed into every hour—and how it enables us to deliver the high-quality care and outcomes you expect.
While this rate hasn’t changed in over seven years, the cost of living has increased by more than 30%, and wages have gone up by nearly 12%. Despite this, we remain committed to offering exceptional service and ensuring our clients and communities continue to benefit from our experienced, supported, and passionate team.
Here’s a snapshot of what this hourly rate helps make possible:
- Your OT’s Expertise and Time: This includes their wages, superannuation, leave entitlements, paid public holidays, professional development (so they stay at the top of their game), insurance, and travel time between appointments.
- Client-Focused Support Teams: Behind every great OT is a skilled admin and support team helping things run smoothly; managing bookings, answering queries, supporting therapists, and much more, and this rate covers their wages, superannuation, leave entitlements, paid public holidays, professional development, etc.
- Quality Assurance: Reports and assessments are carefully reviewed by Senior OTs to ensure accuracy, insight, and clarity—because you deserve the best outcomes. Our OTs also receive regular clinical supervision and mentoring.
- Technology and Tools: Devices like Surface Pros, phones, and practice management software help our team deliver efficient and seamless service, and the hourly rate covers all associated costs for these.
- Professional Growth & Sustainability: We invest in ongoing training, team development days, and non-billable support time to build a strong, resilient, and if we do say so ourselves, an amazing team.
- Service Continuity: The hourly rate also helps cover the inevitable quiet periods (such as school holidays), cancellations that can’t be filled like for like, and fluctuations in demand—so that your OT is still there when you need them.
- Growing the Future of OT: We proudly support the next generation of therapists by hosting OT students from South Australian universities, and Allied Health Assistant students from a variety of tertiary institutions helping to build a stronger, more sustainable workforce.
- Commitment to Local Communities: As a community-based practice, we’re proud that many of our OTs live and work locally. This means we invest in our regions, often travelling long distances to ensure our high standards are met consistently, especially through senior supervision, workplace shadowing and mentoring.
